Please note that the Bayswater club will be closed on Tuesday the 31st of August, only.  There will be a once off class for adult students at the Croydon Dojo for intermediate and senior students from 8pm to 9pm on the night Bayswater is closed.

But don’t worry I have a couple of other places I can look, and in the worst case I will have them send me one.

Big day yesterday, at the 61st All Japan Shukokai Championships. More than 1150 competitors. The competition was run over 9 courts, with the opening ceremony starting at 9am, and the first divisions at 10am.
The entire comp was finished by 4.30pm!

Dinner and the after party is where all the instructors “network” and catch up… This after party ended up actually going for longer than the tournament. Let’s just say that Sensei Stephen and I managed to “meet” and socialize with many old friends.

Still more training tonight, off to another one of Ishitobi Sensei’s dojo’s in a town called Myodani. It should take about 1 hour to get there by train.

I am counting down to come home, and have lots of “stuff” to work on with everyone. For Squad members make sure you bring in your usb sticks to training, as I have taken heaps of Vids from the comp to show you.

Keep training hard, and I can’t wait to get back into the dojo with you all soon.

I arrived in Kobe last Wed night at about 10.30 with Sensei Stephen Kelly, and found Ishitobi Sensei waiting at the Hotel for us.

It has been brilliant training with him, Thursday at his dojo, then last night at Yamada sensei’s “Honbu” dojo.  The “honbu” is the world HQ for Shukokai.

As usual lots of magnificent food, and catching up with friends who I have been visiting and training with for nearly 20 years now.

More training tonight, then going to the All Japan Shukokai Championships tomorrow.  The comp will have more than 1000 competitors, and believe it or not, will be run in 1 day, from 10am to 6pm!!!

I’ll keep you all posted so keep an eye on this space…  See you at the dojo soon.
